What is the National Popular Vote Interstate Compact and Why Is It a Threat?
Today, a San Francisco-based lobbying organization called National Popular Vote (NPV) is pushing state legislation that would nullify the Electoral College without a constitutional amendment.
The plan has states commit to ignore their own voters and instead give away their electoral votes based on the national popular vote. By doing this, they hope to manipulate the Constitution and, in effect, nullify the Electoral College.
